What has happened??
Kids and Dogs Course: We gave a 4 week dog class all for kids. It was great to see kids gaining skills to train their dog. We are not sure how many actually helped their dog with their homework, but it was all fun. Here is a link to the video of images. One child said "best Tuesdays that I've ever been to!"

WATCH OUT for our invited International SpeakerStephen Jenkinson, who will speak on Monday evening on Sept 26. He'll be talking about the development of the UK’s first dog-human activity trail. This should be very interesting especially since we will be rebuilding our city! We'll keep you up-to-date and send out an invite.

3. Classes

Life Skills Class for dogs older than 5 months continues this week at both locations.Register online

Please remember that our Life Skills Classes are for those dogs that don't have reactive issues to other dogs, and are calm enough to pay attention. If your dog is having trouble in class, you will be frustrated, and your dog will too. Why not get us to your house and do a private consult and get you started teaching your dog in a less distractive environment!

No classes in October as both instructors are going to the APDT Conference in the States, and it'll give us time to look at other training facilities, and gain some new insights.

3. Training Tips
--------------

* Periodically call your dog back to you when out walking. Place it on a lead and reward it with a brief game or a tasty bit of food and then let it off lead again. Your dog will then learn that coming back to you is good news and being placed on the lead does not mean the end of the walk!

* Encourage your dog to play games. Different breeds respond to different games - find out what your dog enjoys the best.

Since it's the Rugby World Cup, we thought we'd get some great football/rugby videos
The greatest football playing dog in the world
Dog Joins Aussie Rules Football Match This is really funny. Aussie Rules game means there is a lot of kicking, and the ball is flying everywhere... with the dog running with them! You have to wonder why no one took the dog out of the game!
