A Review of TTouch A previous introduction to Tellington TTOUCH in Dunedin several years ago by this somewhat skeptical trainer witnessed significant behavioural change in dogs that wasn't accounted for by traditional methods. Inspired by having practiced and applied some of the TTOUCH techniques and seeing our client dogs in class and in public it has became increasingly important addition to our tool bag of options.

It was a logical choice to invite Canadian instructor Edie Jane Eaton back again for a Christchurch weekend at the McLean's Island Kennel Association venue introducing TTOUCH to another bunch of dogs and owners drawn from all over New Zealand . Watching these canine owners improve the overall temperament and handling skills while sharing the time with other dogs during the intensive two days and seeing how enabling the outcome was worth all the time put into organizing it.

NZ Companion Animal Conference Board Meeting, Auckland , SPCA The Naked Dog Team was there to assist plan for the Annual conference to be held in Christchurch in October We'll keep you posted closer to the date.

A. Under-feeding
B. Over-feeding

Last Newsletter Quiz's answer: What are the best words to use to teach a dog named "Tippy" to come to you immediately when he/she is running into the street?

ANSWER
C. Or any other single syllable word that starts with a "hard" consonant. Koi is actually a Japanese military command as well as a colorful fish. The reason to avoid commonly used words, such as "come", or "here," is that they are used in everyday, non-urgent situations and can literally "fall on deaf ears."

The Evils of Tug-o-War and Rules for playing tug When you play tug with your dogs, you should be bounded by three rules: No bites, no fights, no kids. That is, the dog must not make dental contact with your skin or clothes; the dog must release the toy immediately on a single command; and the dog doesn't get to play the game with anyone else -- esp. not with kids

If you think Cesar Milan is a good guy, watch Charlie Murphy. He reveals the secret about the Dog Whisperer show. Very funny clip. I Will Not Apologize for this stand-up comedy show.

Michael Ellis on Dogs Jumping Up on their Owners This is funny. Michael was helping the handler with something else and suddenly had to explain that, "Hell, yeah" you can stop the dog from jumping you -- so things turn into a very good lesson manners training
